The Hop, Skip & Jump Preschool curriculum is designed to give children the opportunity
to explore a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities inspired by
the Reggio Emilia approach. Using an emergent curriculum that builds upon the
interest of the children, teachers inspire children to become excited about learning.
Our
curriculum prepares children for school by focusing on problem solving, critical
thinking skills, socializations skills, the creative process, academic concepts
and physical education. The philosophy behind the Hop, Skip & Jump Preschool
curriculum is that young children learn best by doing.
Our classrooms are designed
carefully to encourage childhood discovery and exploration. Children are guided
to develop their interest in many topics and explore these topics through small
group investigations and activities. Children learn best when they feel valued,
are in a safe community and feel psychologically secure. Our school environment
meets all of these needs and we teach in a manner that matches the way children
develop and learn.
